Julie Thibaud and the Bleuettes off to a good start (4-1)
France beat Ghana (4-1)
FéMININES / SéLECTION - Sunday, August 5, 2018 - 21:42
French U20s beat Ghana in their first World Cup match.
Yesterday in Vannes, Gilles Eyquem's France U20 side played their first World Cup game against Ghana.
France rapidly worked up a 3-0 lead, thanks in large part to a brace from ex-Girondine Emelyne Laurent. Ghana pulled one back in the second half thanks to a defensive error, but Parisian Sandy Baltimore sealed the victory late on (4-1).
Julie Thibaud played the full 90 minutes in the heart of the French defence.
